Move Up: Why Some Cultures Advance While Others Don't - Clotaire Rapaille, Andrés Roemer

Mobility. The central question in human evolution is this. The authors describe "The human animal" through his biological impulses and cultural constructions, the three basic structures of the brain are: Reptilian, Limbic, Cortex followed by the four S; Survival, Sex, Security, Success are aligned to indicate that our "Reptilian Brain" always wins. But not only of instinct we are made, the openness of the cultures along with the diversity of expressions create the mood of one nation. The Mobility index with 71 nation is the fruit of this work that comprehends many western countries at the top and many poor countries at the bottom. Many simple stories are proposed to distinguish the theory and day to day reality. Fast reading, rich bibliography.

Misbehaving. The Making of Behavioural Economics - Richard H. Thaler

A beautiful journey into Thaler's intellectual life. Every chapter contains a part of his path, from the beginning in 1970's to the present time of writing book in 2014. The main lesson that he gives to us is that a new science could gain the attention of the mainstream only with the help of many people and many "Nudges" as the central theme of this book suggest. A pleasing read and so many experiments are described on the field; the psychology has entered in economics not long ago, but the Econs now consider it the new frontier for many reasons because we will value not only the numbers but also the choice process here extendedly described.

Personal anecdotes, the theory of games, sunk costs, budgets, Planner and Doer, The Endowment Effect, Prospect Theory, Market Prices and the final experience in support of UK Government make a comprehensive text, clear in his proposition and practical in every day lives. The "Nudges" are for any person who decides to improve his own life in each simple doing.

The previous author work that shaping this one is: Nudge: Improving Decisions About Health, Wealth, and Happiness
