Green Metropolis - David Owen

An accomplished book for 2000's state of art of energy problems from an anthropological point of view. The problem of climate change was analyzing by side of what we can make really, no ideologic & a truly seek of peoples draw, from thiny modification (for example, to take the eat nearby house) until to control of births & going to live in city process already act (if UN statistics affirm that in 2002 peoples who live in cities are more of that they didn't). In particular the problem is that the changes of daily life, can only proceed with a system of incentive how a concentrated transit system, opposite a high cost of inefficient, as single own spreading box of toys (single car, single heating, etc..).

I had much pleasure to read Green Metropolis, maybe because in the old Europe & in Italy in particular, the new way that is affirms is the "old American style" where everybody can make with them cars what they want to pedestrians.

Prima personale lettura di un romanzo fantasy datato 1969. La trama riguarda la scoperta di 2 persone in fondo all'Antartide, provenienti da una società scomparsa 900.000 anni fa; scoperta che sconvolge la scienza moderna, sia dal lato tecnico, ma specialmente da quello etico, in particolare perché si riflette su tutte le contraddizioni attuali che a 40 anni dalla pubblicazione sono più che mai complesse. Ricco di prosa e poesia, noioso solo a tratti nella parte centrale, è coerente di stile fino in fondo, piuttosto verosimile. Una buona anticipazione di quello che potrebbe accadere con l'avanzare della scienza moderna e che ci pone di fronte alla questione più importante: qual'è il valore della vita di un uomo? A voi l'ardua sentenza..

susan sontag - at the same time

From the first point of view, it has many different kinds of analysis of modern literature & for formation of Susan Sontag. It is still a way of introduction to new readers, although i less clearly of understanding in some passages. I would say that from here, I will continue to read & discovery the worlds of words across english texts
